A Closer Look Into Our Latest Bathroom Renovation

When people think about renovating their homes, they usually start with kitchens or primary bathrooms. But this project proves that even a guest bathroom— especially one right off the hallway— can be a complete showstopper. For this renovation in Grapevine, TX, we set out to create a space that would surprise and impress every guest who stepped inside. The result? A bathroom that feels like its own little sanctuary. One that is beautifully styled and thoughtfully designed from the inside out. In this blog, we explore our process and goals for the project, the transformation itself, and the materials used to make it all happen.

From Basic to Inspired

Fast forward to today, and the space couldn’t feel more different.

Before the renovation, this hallway bathroom was what many would consider “builder basic.” The floors and walls were covered in a muted, flat “renter’s gray” tone that lacked any warmth or personality. A plain vanity mirror dominated the wall above the sink, while bulky storage cabinetry hovered over the toilet— making the space feel tighter and more utilitarian than inviting.

The shower was functional but uninspired, with tile that stopped at the standard height and didn’t make it to the curve of the ceiling, leaving the upper walls looking unfinished. Outdated fixtures and generic finishes completed the look, making the bathroom feel more like a temporary space than a thoughtfully designed one.

Fast forward to today, and the space couldn’t feel more different. The gray has been replaced with warmth and texture, the storage cabinetry is gone to open up the room, and every surface has been elevated with rich materials and updated fixtures. By extending the shower tile to the curve and introducing intentional details throughout, we were able to give this guest bathroom a whole new identity. And that is one that is anything but forgettable.

Creating a Guest Experience That Stands Out

Our client came to us with a clear vision:

Our client came to us with a clear vision: she wanted her guest bathroom to feel like a retreat— like you’d stepped into an entirely different home. Since the rest of the house hadn’t been updated yet, the goal was to make this one space feel elevated and unexpected. A place where guests could genuinely relax, and where every detail felt intentional.

This home is located in Grapevine, one of the core areas we serve alongside Colleyville, Southlake, and Dallas. During the design and renovation process, we focused on high-impact details that would bring a sense of luxury without overwhelming the smaller footprint. The transformation involved updating the layout, replacing outdated fixtures, and bringing in a palette of seamless, beautiful materials.

Materials That Elevate the Everyday

While the layout remained relatively similar, the finishes were anything but basic.

While the layout remained relatively similar, the finishes were anything but basic. The centerpiece of the vanity is a stunning Calacatta Viola marble countertop, rich with dramatic veining and natural elegance. It’s the kind of material that immediately elevates the room and sets the tone for everything else.

Though not pictured, the floor tile came from Emser Tile’s STERLINA II collection, selected for its clean, refined look and subtle character. On the shower walls, we used Cloé tile by Bedrosians— a designer favorite known for its handmade look, soft glaze, and beautiful tonal variation. The texture and depth of these tiles create a sense of movement without distracting from the overall calm of the space.

The shower faucet is by Delta, offering reliable performance with a sleek finish, while the sink faucet is from Signature Hardware, chosen for its slightly vintage look and sturdy brass construction. We paired those with a classic Kohler undermount sink, keeping everything streamlined and durable. And again, although it’s not pictured; We finished the space with a Pottery Barn light fixture which adds a soft, ambient glow and just the right touch of warmth.
